Professional Terms
These terms apply to professionals who join SilverHelp. They explain what we expect from you and what you can expect from us.
Last updated: January 2026
SilverHelp is operated by Galaxy Online Services. By applying to join SilverHelp and using our platform, you agree to these Professional Terms. Please read them carefully alongside our general Terms of Service.
Your Relationship with SilverHelp
As a SilverHelp professional, you are an independent contractor, not an employee of SilverHelp or Galaxy Online Services. This means:
- You are responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and business affairs
- You set your own rates and negotiate directly with families
- You are free to work with other platforms and clients
- SilverHelp does not control how you perform your work
We match you with families who need your services, but the relationship is directly between you and the family.
Application and Approval
To join SilverHelp, you must:
- Complete our application form accurately and honestly
- Provide evidence of valid public liability insurance
- Provide references that we can contact
- Be approved by our team
We review all applications and may decline applications at our discretion. Approval is not guaranteed. We may ask for additional information during the review process.
By submitting an application, you confirm that all information provided is true and accurate. Providing false information is grounds for immediate removal.
Insurance Requirements
You must maintain valid public liability insurance appropriate to the services you provide. This is a mandatory requirement for all SilverHelp professionals.
- You must provide evidence of insurance when you apply
- You must notify us immediately if your insurance lapses or changes
- You are responsible for ensuring adequate coverage for your work
If your insurance expires and you do not provide updated documentation, your account will be suspended until valid insurance is confirmed.
Code of Conduct
Our clients are often elderly or vulnerable. We expect all professionals to treat them with the utmost respect and care. You must:
- Treat all clients with dignity, patience, and kindness
- Be respectful of their home and belongings
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries
- Never take advantage of a client's trust or vulnerability
- Report any concerns about a client's wellbeing
- Respect client confidentiality at all times
Any behaviour that puts clients at risk or brings SilverHelp into disrepute will result in immediate removal from the platform.
Punctuality and Reliability
Reliability is essential. The families we work with are often coordinating care from a distance and depend on professionals arriving as agreed.
- Arrive on time for all appointments
- If you will be late, contact the family as soon as possible
- If you need to cancel, give as much notice as possible
- Do not cancel repeatedly or at short notice
Persistent lateness or cancellations may result in removal from SilverHelp.
Communication
Good communication builds trust with families. You should:
- Respond promptly to messages and enquiries
- Keep families informed about visit times
- Be clear about what services you can and cannot provide
- Discuss pricing and expectations upfront
Contact details shared through SilverHelp should only be used for the purpose of providing agreed services.
Visit Updates and Reporting
Families appreciate knowing how visits went, especially when they can't be there in person. We encourage you to:
- Use our check-in system to confirm arrivals and completions
- Add brief notes about the work completed
- Take completion photos where appropriate (with client consent)
- Report any concerns about the client's wellbeing
This helps families feel connected and reassured about their loved ones.
Confidentiality
You will have access to personal information about clients and their families. This must be kept strictly confidential.
- Do not share client information with anyone outside of SilverHelp
- Do not discuss clients publicly or on social media
- Do not photograph clients or their homes without permission
- Securely dispose of any written notes containing personal information
Breach of confidentiality is a serious matter and will result in removal from SilverHelp.
Fees
During our launch period, there are no fees to join or use SilverHelp.
Payment for your services is arranged directly between you and the family. SilverHelp does not take a commission or handle payments.
We may introduce fees or commission in the future. Any changes will be communicated in advance, and you will have the opportunity to continue or leave the platform.
Prohibited Activities
The following are strictly prohibited:
- Accepting gifts or money beyond agreed payment for services
- Asking clients for loans or financial help
- Encouraging clients to change their will or make financial decisions
- Taking items from a client's home without explicit permission
- Bringing unauthorised people to a client's home
- Performing services you are not qualified or insured to provide
- Using client contact details for marketing or unrelated purposes
Violation of these rules will result in immediate and permanent removal.
Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or remove you from SilverHelp if:
- You breach these Professional Terms
- We receive serious complaints from families
- Your insurance lapses and is not renewed
- You provide false or misleading information
- You engage in any prohibited activities
You may leave SilverHelp at any time by contacting us. Please ensure any ongoing commitments to families are honoured or properly handed over.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Professional Terms from time to time. When we make changes, we will notify you by email.
Continued use of SilverHelp after changes have been made constitutes acceptance of the new terms. If you don't agree with updated terms, please contact us to discuss or to leave the platform.
